A jack is a female connector that receives a plug and usually has holes or sockets that align with the pins of the plug to establish a connection.

A plug is a male connector that is designed to be inserted into a jack. Typically, it will consist of one or more pins or prongs that make contact with the corresponding contacts in a jack.

JST connectors are electrical connectors manufactured to the design standards originally developed by J.S.T. Mfg. Co. (Japan Solderless Terminal).

A "jumper wire" is a short, insulated piece of electrical wire with or without connectors at each end. It is used to easily connect two points in a circuit, often without soldering. It effectively is a temporary "electrical bridge" between different points
